Limpopo Public Works MEC, Ernest Rachoene has told the Standing Committee on Public Accounts that the department will prioritise the filling of vacant posts. Rachuene says the department has already filled more than 300 posts since he assumed the role of MEC last year.
“In dealing with the high vacancy rate in the department, we are moving quickly to ensure that we appoint new staff members to capacitate internal capacity to achieve improved service delivery. We recently appointed 174 employees, and in a few weeks we will receive a second cohort of 150 employees.” Rachuene said

Rachuene also assured the communities under Moshate wa ga Makofane Traditional Council as led by Kgoshi Makofane, that Public works will immediately start with graveling and blading of D4140 and D4144 roads.
