African National Congress councillor at Ward 4 in Thembisile Hani Local Municipality has been arrested for alleged murder.  Elizabeth Namthungwa Radebe appeared before the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s court on a charge of murder.

The opposition party, EFF, has welcomed the arrest. Paty chairperson in Mpumalanga, Collen Sedibe, says the arrest is the right step towards accountability and justice in a province where ANC leaders are alleged to act with impunity, believing they are above the law.

Sedibe says law enforcement agencies need to act without fear.
