ANC WOMEN’S LEAGUE IN LIMPOPO IS BACKING RAMATHUBA FOR CHAIRPERSON POSITION IN 2027

Limpopo ANC Women’s League Secretary Tebogo Mamorobele has endorsed Dr. Phophi Ramathuba for provincial chair in 2027. Mamorobele, also the deputy speaker of the provincial legislature, emphasized that having two centers of power in the province is not feasible and would not advocated for giving women leadership opportunities.

“It would be unprecedented for the ANC to have a female Premier in the province and yet not support her as the center of power,” Mamorobele says.

Ramathuba is also supported by the current Sekhukhune Regional Chairperson, Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune and ANC Women’s league Deputy provincial Chairperson, Minah Bahula for the ultimate seat.

Dr. Phophi Ramathuba has been praised by many residents for her effective leadership in the provincial administration and is poised to become the next provincial chairperson in 2027. After the 2024 general elections, she made history as the first female Premier of Limpopo.

The ANC Women’s league has also thrown its weight behind it’s current Chairpeson and Executive Mayor of Capricorn Mamedupi Teffo for the position of Peter Mokaba Regional Chair. Mamedupi will be deputised by Tonny Rachoene in the incoming Peter Mokaba conference set to take place on the 05th and 6th of May 2025.
