A 22-year-old female patient who was alleged sexual raped by a male doctor at George Masebe Hospital in Mokopane, in Limpopo wants justice. The woman who cannot be named by Limpopo Newspaper, to protect her identity said she is happy that the Health Department is taking disciplinary action against the doctor.
The woman says the doctor attempted to rape her when she went for ultrasound treatment at the hospital. She says she was told to strip naked as part of the pregnancy examination. She said the doctor began to touch her punani while uttering sexual comments advances to her.
“She started commenting on how my punani is tight and if he can insert her pennis with her trouser unzipped. I managed to scream for help and alerted the nurses. I told them what happened and they then alerted the police”
Limpopo Health MEC Dieketseng Mashego says their internal investigation revealed that there was enough evidence of the alleged incident.
Mashego says they are proceeding with the disciplinary actions because they have found evidence.
The doctor is still on suspension. The woman will testify later the authorities are waiting for her to give birth.
