
Limpopo MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure, Ernest Rachoene, has welcomed the allocation of R125 million for the construction of a new road interchange leading to St Engenas Zion Christian Church. The allocation was announced by Treasury MEC Kgabo Mahoai during the provincial Budget speech at the provincial legislature in Lebowakgomo.

The upcoming road interchange, which is yet to be named, is expected to alleviate congestion and provide relief to motorists and pedestrians during church pilgrimages. The R71 road belongs to SANRAL whereas the D4020 falls under RAL.

Treasury also allocated R5.627 billion, which includes conditional grant funding of R2.068 billion for provincial road maintenance.
Public works were also allocated R100.000 million for the procurement of a Road Fleet and Equipment R100.000 million for the procurement of an office building and R89.000 million for the construction of 15 additional parliamentary houses.
