
Two senior African National Congress (ANC) leaders in Mangaung escaped without serious injuries after being involved in a car accident on the N1 near Verkeerdevlei on Saturday.
The accident occurred when a state vehicle, traveling as part of a convoy, reportedly lost control and rolled over.
The occupants of the vehicle were Sabelo Pitso, Regional Secretary of the ANC in Mangaung, and Vuyile Nikelo, Chief Whip of the ANC in Mangaung Metro. They were accompanied by their bodyguards, Isaac Mangani and Meshack Tshabalala.
Emergency services attended the scene, and all four were assessed for injuries. Authorities confirmed that none of them sustained serious harm.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
