Lobby group AfriForum wants ANC freedom fighters to be prosecuted for some of the crimes committed during the apartheid era. Group leader, Kallie Kriel, says there were white victims who were killed during apartheid by ANC leaders, but those leaders were shielded from prosecution by the National Prosecuting Authority.
Kriel says the victims include Kobie van Eck and his two children, who were killed by a landmine planted by the ANC operative in December 1985.
Kriek says they have made submissions to the Khampepe Commission of Inquiry. The commission was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa. The president set up the commission to look into the murder of the ANC leaders known as Cradock-4.
Kirk says they believe the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which was established in 1997, was only set up to persecute former Apartheid security and not the ANC operatives.
