Witness A at the Madlanga Commission has told the Commission that Head of Organised crime, Major General Richard Shibiri, told him that Molefe was part of a mining group in the North West with mining interests. Shibiri has been implicated in trying to shield those responsible for the murder of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart. Swart was allegedly gunned down for exposing the multimillion-dollar corruption at Transnet.
The Witness also told the commission that an inmate, Lucky Buthelezi, is allegedly connected to Jothan Msibi, popularly known as Mswazi, a taxi boss who’s late, who was connected to an individual called Z. Nxumalo living in Sandton.
Nxumalo, according to Witness A, is allegedly a close associate to Julius Malema, who is in turn, a close associate of General Sibiya.
The link has also raised questions on why Malema was never available at AD Hoc Commitee to question Genral Sibiya.
