Current ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile has reportedly been excluded from the Ramaphosa camp’s lineup for the top 7 positions in the ANC. Instead, leaders loyal to President Cyril Ramaphosa have been actively lobbied for and are being positioned for election at the ANC’s 2027 general conference.

The race for the ANC’s top leadership positions has begun, with several names being floated. Fikile Mbalula is being touted as a potential ANC President, with Panyaza Lesufi as his possible deputy. Other names mentioned include Sihle Zikalala for National Chairperson and Khumbudzo Ntshavheni for General Secretary.

Ronald Lamola is reportedly set to become the First Secretary, while Thandi Mahambehlala will serve as Second Deputy Secretary, and Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams as Treasurer.

All these potential leaders are aligned with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s camp. The lineup appears to have bypassed current ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile.
