According to Shogole, the assault was sparked by his inquiry about the identity verification process for meeting attendees. A viral video shows Shogole been attacked has been circulating. The video also show Shogole subjected to fists and flying kicks.

“I was suddenly surrounded by a hostile group of ANC members from a rival faction after I raised concerns about the verification processes. What triggered my inquiry was the fact that my ID wasn’t scanned at the entrance, which seemed unusual since verifying attendees’ identities is a standard protocol,” Shogole said

Incoming ANC Peter Mokaba region leadership

Tshepo Shogole believes the motive behind the attack on him stems from his decision to support Mamedupi Teffo and Tonny Rachoene as leaders in the upcoming Peter Mokaba Regional conferences.

“Although i avoided factionalism, my preference for Mamedupi Teffo and Tonny Rachuene over the current chairperson might have contributed to the attack as the agressors are known to be loyal supporteers of the current leadership.

More ANC branches in Seshego held their meetings this Sunday with the majority supporting Mamedupi Teffo and Tonny Rachoene as new leaders.
